2012 SEMA Show Report Mega Gallery, Part Two with 338 Pictures

At “traditional” auto shows, car manufacturers take center stage to display their regular line-up and a concept or two with tuning and equipment companies more often than not, playing second fiddle.

Geneva, Tokyo, Detroit and Frankfurt are all nice and dandy for unveiling the latest production-intent models and outlandish concepts, but Las Vegas and its Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show is a different “beast” altogether.

At SEMA, there is something for everyone; from subcompacts, pickup trucks and pony cars to lavishly made hot-rods, the latest bunch of supercars and anything and everything in between.

The 2012 show was a real bonanza of thousands of modified vehicles and tuning products for anything you could possibly think of – and then some more. Since the event is not open to the public (the reason being, presumably, that it would have to last a couple of months or so…), images will have to suffice.

When You Try This with a Harley Davidson, You're Asking for Trouble….

We will let you in on a dirty "little" secret that may surprise a select few including the protagonist of this accident: Harley Davidson motorcycles aren't sports bikes and should never be treated as such on the road.

To give you an example, a telltale sign that you are definitely overdoing it and pushing your luck is the sound of stretched saddlebags scrapping the asphalt. If anything else, this should inform you that you are being too much of a "Low Rider" for your own safety.

You Won't Believe This Motorcycle Accident Unless You See it

It's one thing to hear this story and another to watch it with your own two eyes, but if you're willing to read before you view the footage, here's what happened.

About 20 seconds after a group of motorcyclists began a dirt bike race on the tarmac, one of them lost his balance and slipped on the road. A rider coming from behind was evidently taken by surprise and didn't have much room to avoid the crash.

You are probably wondering what's with our post-title. Well, it's actually what we heard the driver featured in this video saying when an accident happened, and since we couldn’t translate it, we left it as is…

In true Russian style, this isn't just one of your typical crashes. While driving on a freeway in pouring rain, the man in the camera-equipped car saw a motorcyclist slip and fall down from his bike, fortunately without being hit by another vehicle.

There are bike jumps and there are crazy bike jumps, and there's this; one of the zaniest attempts to fly with a motorcycle that we have ever seen.

The video we found doesn’t provide any background information on the stunt that involved a man on a dirt bike jumping over some huge trees and into the air with a parachute before he landed into what appears to be a river or a lake, with his friends or associates filming the feat from the water.

Not so Fast and Furious: Japanese Cop in Hot Pursuit of a Bicyclist

While movie flicks like the "Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift" would have you believe that police officers in Japan roam around the roads chasing modified sports cars at ridiculously high speeds, reality can be far more mundane.

How much more humdrum, we hear some of you ask? Well, what would you say about a Japanese traffic officer pursuing a bicyclist, not in a car or on a motorcycle, but while riding a bike?

Even machines have their limits and this ATV reached them when its rider tried to perform a front wheelie - we are going to take a shot in the dark and say it happened in…Russia, but we could be wrong.

The wheelie was successful for about half a second, but then the ATV decided it had just about enough and dropped the rider continuing on its own.

What could be more frustrating for Batman than his archenemy, the psychopathic clown, The Joker?

Well, how about trying to navigate through the dark streets of Gotham city on the Batpod, all while using the Apple iPhone 5's botched maps service app to reach and save the life of his beloved Rachel?

Naturally, this never happened in the movie but some creative folks over at YouTube made a funny parody of Apple's iPhone 5 map debacle using scenes from the 2008 Hollywood blockbuster "The Dark Knight".

You Won't Believe it at First, But the Rider Made it Out Almost Unhurt in this Incident

If we told you that, a rider who was not wearing any protective gear other than a helmet, lost control of his motorcycle at highway speeds and came down tumbling across the road, suffered only some minor scratches, we doubt that you would believe us.

Even more so, if you watch the scary and somewhat unexplainable accident (at least from this angle and distance) as it happened through the helmet-mounted camera of a fellow biker coming from behind.
